La educación intercultural es el gran reto de la sociedad del siglo X XI. El contenido de este libro estÃí pensado para que la teoráa y la prÃíctica de la educación intercultural estén ántimamente ligadas, de tal manera que permita no sólo reflexionar sobre el tema sino tamb ién, y fundamentalmente, actuar. El libro aborda algunas consecuencia s de la inmigración, entroncado con los derechos de ciudadanáa, el r acismo y sus diversas manifestaciones. Argumenta cómo la educación i ntercultural constituye un medio fundamental para desarrollar valores democrÃíticos, y hace un somero anÃílisis del concepto y los tipos de mediación, la figura del mediador y las circunstancias que han hecho surgir la necesidad de la mediación intercultural: qué significa és ta y su conexión con el sistema educativo.
