ELECTRICITY AND ELECTRONICS is a compendium of three books: Principles of Electricity, Basic Electronics, and Operational Amplifiers and Other Special Devices, by engineer Albeiro Patiño Builes. The three can be acquired separately, but given the great reception they have had, this collection offers them in a single volume. The success of this series lies, surely, in the simplicity of the theoretical explanations, the minimal mathematics, without neglecting the technical rigor, but above all, in the large number of exercises, both solved and proposed, that lead the student by the hand to problem solving, but also to the execution of practical laboratories where the great incentive for learning is the result: knowledge of basic laws, manipulation of components, construction of circuits, measurement and verification of results. We hope that the presentation of these works in a single volume becomes a great motivation for those interested in the study of electrical phenomena to delve deeper into the study of this fascinating branch of science.

PRINCIPLES OF ELECTRICITY offers the interested person in electrical and electronic phenomena the necessary foundation to enter the vast and complex world of electrons, protons, and neutrons and the effect they have on the world. However, it does not only explain electric current through resistance, the voltage that maintains it, and the power it generates, but also delves into electric circuits and the laws that govern them, such as Ohm''s Law, Kirchhoff''s Laws, Pouillet''s Law, and Joule''s Law. It also makes an approach to the possible transformations that can occur to analyze electric circuits, such as Delta to Star and Star to Delta. It also provides a complete reflection on the measurement instruments that the technician, technologist, engineer, or simple enthusiast in the field of electricity must always keep in mind and use. The book is accompanied by a series of diagrams, formulas, tables, etc., that aid in the understanding of the electrical phenomenon, as well as relying on a wide variety of solved exercises throughout the text, and others exercises proposed so that the student and reader have the opportunity to, once finished studying the book, get to work and apply what they have learned in the theory. It is, therefore, a complete manual that provides real benefits to students and curious individuals, experts and knowledgeable persons, and those who are just approaching, sometimes with fear, this microscopic and invisible but always real world.

Principles Of Electricity

BASIC ELECTRONICS is the second of three books prepared by engineer Albeiro Patiño Builes. The analysis now focuses on semiconductors, the primary basis of digital electronics. It analyzes diodes and circuits with diodes, as well as the bipolar junction transistor (BJT), and the application of these components to practical and real cases. The author dedicates a following chapter to the study of various devices used in digital circuits, such as batteries, switches, pushbuttons, fuses, varistors, resistors, potentiometers, capacitors, coils, light-emitting diodes, photovoltaic cells, integrated circuits, speakers, and more. He continues with a practical case that will be very interesting for students, and is the step-by-step analysis that will lead readers of this text to the design and construction of a power supply, which will be of great help in providing direct current energy from alternating current energy for their next works. Finally, there is an academic support guide, consisting of a series of proposed practical exercises that will allow the student not only to put their learning into practice, but also to have fun with their creations, such as current rectifiers, voltage multipliers, amplifiers, regulators, light sources, and more.

Basic electronics

OPERATIONAL AMPLIFIERS AND OTHER SPECIAL DEVICES concludes this "Trilogy of Electricity" with a book that not only continues with the line of the previous two texts, but complements what could be called a specialization in the field of electricity and electronics, and electric and electronic circuits. In this third volume, the protagonist element is the Integrated Circuit (IC), and especially the Operational Amplifiers and the 555 Timer. With these two ICs, and the incomparable help of other special devices that the author also deals with and analyzes, such as the family of so-called thyristors (SCR or Silicon Controlled Rectifier, TRIAC or Double-Sided Triode, DIAC, CUADRAC, etc.), the author helps the reader understand the usefulness of their application: comparators, sine wave to square wave converters, summing amplifiers, integrators, differentiators, logarithmic amplifiers, antilogarithmic amplifiers, waveform converters, etc. As always, diagrams, formulas, graphs, solved and proposed exercises. A whole amalgam of knowledge to make the interested reader always feel accompanied.
